brookie 1,193
one fight calzaghe turned down more than once --- carl froch ... Absolutely..............and to tell one of the biggest names in the sport Bernard Hopkins if he wants to fight he has to go to little old Wales rather than have it take place in the boxing capital of the world...........only to years later go to the boxing capital of the world anyway to fight the very same man now aged 43....dont fool anyone.. not looking to get into an argument gnash .because you and i seem to clash sometimes on our opinions . but as for going to little old wales as you put it .why not .bruno fought lewis there didnt he . joe is a welshman after all and we do have the best arena in europe to stage it ,with 75000 welsh men cheering him on plus tv coverage all around the world . joe was and is every bit as big a name in boxing as what hopkins is and was .and as for froch beating joe .not in a million years if froch was ever any good he would have beaten a kessler on the slide mate .joe will always be remembered as the fighter who retired undefeated .maybe if he had taken the froch fight which would have been a backward step for him . he would have beaten froch what next take the next up and coming then the next and the next until he loses .or the establishment might have done to him what they done to holmes in the spinks fight and rob him .you also mention hopkins at 43. well hes still at the top and a lot older theres talk of froch fighting him . will you condemn froch then for waiting for him to reach pension age [bANNED TEXT] he gets in with him . like you admit you have a issue with joe . so we leave it there .what i will do if your agreeable is if the froch and hopkins fight does come of i will have a little wager with you that hopkins will stop froch . there is on this site an ex world champion who was a stable mate of joes .if he sees this thread he will put a few of these myths about joe to bed

Theres no myth about it....Calzaghe told Hopkins and Jones jnr they would have to go to Wales to fight him,but then went to America anyway when they were old, thats not myth its a fact......there will always be question marks as to who the best super middleweight was Calzaghe/Hopkins/Jones jnr.....it could have been proven at the time but never happened but thats boxing sometimes.
