I have land that is close to the Forrest just outside cannon pine, it holded ok nothing amazing but nothing special, I still see big herds of bambi tho. But rarely walk it now, Leominster used to be ok and by steens bridge that used to hold hare well but now coppers and farmers are in partnership to stop the coursing so gotta go at night or not at all. I got two farms close to cannon pine that mixy destroyed won't see a rabbit any kind of night Quote Link to post

Hywel 53
pop over the border to hereford ,they love the welsh there. I've got land in Hereford mate, and in Morton and cannon pine all near each other, plus have land Evesham, pershore , upton , little other side of Worcester by rushwich, and loads around Gloucester where I come from. Just when I go local up the mountains like company, I will be honest I do hunt with someone local here and there but he's hardly out at night and only really ferrets once or twice a week, not my cuppa so when I do go local would be good for some good company plus with way terrain it is don't fancy having an injury and being on tod up there as your be fecked lol it used to be rotten around morten and marden especially in marden i remember once down by the railway house in marden i done 17 rabbits in one field in the seats with the catty .now youd be lucky to see 17 all over there cannon pyon was another good spot as well loads there and plenty of hares there .a couple of years ago by the kenchester church around both sides of the road me and a lad called kieth whos got a fair bit of permiss around there had i think it was 85 from there but thays wiped out now .theres a few lads there i know in the village are out 24/7 every day and night of the year no matter what the weather plus theres another couple up the road doing the same thing so its bound to take its toll on em .through morten into sutton was another good spot myself and one of my sons had one bit of a night there last year we had 30 from there and there were a few hares about there as well but they seem to have all gone as well. .on down the road from there past the cemetery onto the main road behind the cross keys pub and around the fields either side there used to be loads of game there .but theres boys at it all the time. its a case of travelling further a field now .to find numbers i love my sport and have done all my life but i struggle to get into it if the numbers aint on the ground i travelled hundreds of miles last season sometimes driving for four hours to go lamping out all night then four hours drive home .but great sport when your into big numbers .theres still a few hotbeds around south wales where numbers can be had but not many .one place is portcawl bridgend and ogmore theres plenty to get at there both on the merthyr mawr and tyhegstone estates and around pyle there used to be a few .ogmore golf club was another spot it was rotten up there a few year back I know some of that land you are referring to there Brookie I'm going to have to look further afield for land as a bloody national property company is about to purchase some of my land on a compulsory purchase order Quote Link to post
