LoganSinclair 0
hi, well i prefer females, as my females are tamer than the males but it depends on how much they get handled when there young and i'm sure that the run/hutch will be fine. ATB Logan Quote Link to post
AndyKelly 251
females come into season so you should really think about jill jabs or mating - the downside of the mating is that there will be kits to rehome. you can get them nutered but it is costly ( between 30 and 60 quid depending on vets) . male ferrets are easier to keep but if they get too big they can be a bugger to work . jills do tire easy and need to be rested or not worked all day - best to have a couple of crews of 2 or more if your out in the field all day.hope this helps. happyferret123 13
I find my male is tamer than the girls. You could get a male and female and get the hob vasectomised so that he could bring the female out of season. I used to have a Hob who was the best worker but when he died I got a female and she is really good too but then my other female won't work so sometimes it's more to do with that particular ferret than male v female.
