the_hunter1983 2
Just wondering if anyone else has saw this before, one of my male harris its only 7 mths but its no intrest in takeing feather, it takes rabbit no probs, it will go for a wing lure if i throw it he will go like hell and nail it, but shows no intrest in flying for the lure in the air, he has no intrest in takeing feather. Just wondering if anyone else has came across this? Quote Link to post
jasper65 6
alot is down to the entering, some bird which have taken a large number of fur start to specialize or become wedded to that quarry above everything else. I had a female Gos which was a master on the fur but flew the game birds with no enthusiasm. it had nothing to do with fitness or confidence just that she in the past had bagged many Rabbits and probably didn't see the point in chaseing a good strong Pheasant. I finally got her entered on them flying her about a hour before dark, she was keen and a good hour over her 24hr cycle! it was also a good time of the day when the Pheasants start to walk in to roost. to cut a long story short she took a cock Bird, it wasn't pretty and certainly wasn't what anyone would call a flight but it broke the pattern of fur only. before long the tide slowly turned and she was then focused on the game aswel as the bunnies ........ the_hunter1983 2
Lol i dont no what it is with him like he loves the wing lure and hits it hard, even catch it in the air at times but has not one bit of intrest in going after as much as a starling lol he sits in trees covered in sparrows and magpies and stuff, just has no intrest in feather, ive tried him on a load of dif lures snd tried to get him to fly in the air after them but inless its on the ground the answer is no from him.
