pedro68 3
hi there , i decided to go for a wander on my new permission last night , an hour before i was going out it was pouring down ,thankfully the rain did go off , so off i went hoping for a good evening of sport. the farmer told me there was a path that lead to the bottom of the fields and i could go that way instead of going over the fences through the fields .Well i dont think you could really call it a path ,more like a stream and in the pitch black i was stumbling about all over the place , nearly fell on my arse a few times and was cursing him as walking through the fields and a few fences was much easier than this .Anyway i eventually got to the field i had seen the rabbits in and switched on the NV, nothing doing except 3 horses staring intently at me,i move on to the next field and again nothing , i decided to start the climb back up the hill through the field and see if there was anything further up.After negotiating a few electric fences i was at the top feild which was full of rabbits the last time i was up, i scanned the lot and saw only one rabbit , i stalked as quietly as i could through the mud and horse shit and eventually got within range , i lined up the shot and heard the CRACK which confirmed the pellet had found its mark .i walked over to collect my prize but noticed some of the fur on it face was missing and its eyes were sort of imflamed and pussy , i think it was the early stages of mixi , so i chucked it into the hedge line for mr Fox ,i wandered back to the car and never saw another thing ,i was thinking perhaps the rabbits dont like the wet damp weather as i know there are plenty in these fields but not tonight . So it was a 2hour all terrain hike ,one shot ,one kill and home , no a great night by hunting standards but it was still a night out and about . Cant win them all eh. Quote Link to post

RatSniper 19
The farm i shoot on as alot of mixi at the moment best thing you can do is put them onto a fire and burn them to stop mixi spreading. Quote Link to post
