chilly 59
cant bellive it , just went out to feed the dogs and ferrets , when ive gone in the shed to check on the ferrets the polecat has got her head stuck between a wooden ramp and the back of the run , i have managed to get her head out but she not looking good , she cant stand and is really week , dont now how long she has been stuck like that as ive been in work 12 hours today , had to put her in the sleeping box as she couldnt get up and in her self . i hope she not going to die going to go check on her first thing in the morning , really worried about her such a simple thing that i hadnt noticed it , the wooden ramp which goes up to a few shelves and the ferrets sleeping box is fixed , screwed down both ends so it cant move , but i hadnt realized there is a gap between it and the wall at the top big enough for a ferrets head to go thro but at the bottom the gap is smaller , she must have put her head down thro the gap at the top and come down the ramp and it has jammed , i feel so f*****g stupid Quote Link to post
rob190364 2,594
was it dangling or just stood with its head stuck? might just be exhausted from trying to get free? Quote Link to post
chilly 59
luckilly she was stood , well laying on the ramp with her head stuck firmly down thro the gap , when i got her out she was trying to move and stand but was vary week , it looked like she had been there a while by the state of her , and her furr was all flattened around her neck , i picked her up and put her in the nest box and she lay down straight away . tried to give her some water but she wasnt interested , so i thought best leave her as not to stress her any more , hoping she survives the night , if she does she should have a good chance Quote Link to post

Accidents do happen, I nearly chopped my hobs head off last week with a spade, we live and learn. Hope she is ok. Quote Link to post

happyferret123 13
Ferrets are pretty strong, I accidentally stood on my hob the other day with all my weight. He went all floppy and went to sleep straight away when I put him in a comfy box but once he recovered from the shock he was good as new! So she might be all right, could just be tiredness and shock?
