working terriers

hi,

thinking of getting a terrier for ratting and bushing(foxes, game birds, rabbits etc. obviously not retrieving :D) and for fun really (i always thought they were really cool dogs :) ) never had one though...hav had excellent springers though..whats the best breed of terrier for hunting or are they all pretty much the same??

put it to a lurch now that just been daft. border has the coat or two coats in fact and beagle x cocker gives nose and more drive in think cover.to be honest to much nose from the beagle in mine but with the cocker it helps mate with recall thank god.

theres nothing wrong with crosses mate ye get the best off both worlds.

i have plummers and work rat rabbit fox (to gun thumbs.gif ) and can go on a beating line with to to of my terriers i like plummers as thy are steady workers and don't get smashed to ground and can be worked the next day

do you ever use them for game birds?

yer but only on small shoots as at the end of the day thy are only terriers and can get a bit funny to other dog's that go to pick up there bird's
