Ideation 8,216
thanks iceman. Ideation- it would also be a boring place if every dog was perfect, so ill look forward to taking some of the 'advice' on board, but i can see where iceman is coming from, its a pup at the end of the day son. As said above mate, it wasn't a dig and i enjoyed the video. And yes the world would be a bit dull if everyone had the perfect dog. Mine certainly isn't perfect! At the end of the day, don't know who you are, and how much ferreting experiance you have, so it seemed sensible to offer some kind of constructive advice, rather than simply writing 'nice video mate'. The thing about the dogs staring down the hole, well, i've seen a lot of rabbits shoved back down by an over eager dog, and it can be a pain in the ass. It's a reletivly simple thing to correct, and once they get the hang of hovering over the hole, from behind rather than in front, it's handy as f**k! But atb and keep the vids coming! Ideation 8,216
Yes l agree with the dogs around the holes but they learn in time dog and owners not looking a fight just when people put up there dogs on type on here there is always so one who looks for the cracks in the paper instead off the positives Yes mate, you are right, this is THL, whatever you post, someone will tell you how you did it wrong Quote Link to post

PoCk0 40
Precisely, the perfect dog would be boring to have, and she's still learning so things can be altered Quote Link to post

iceman001979 1,316
Be good to see how the wee dog comes on in your next video after the good advice you have been giving its all about learning because in years l have been hunting there always something new to learn and not everyone knows everything.SHIT SORRY WHIN Quote Link to post
socks 32,253
Some of you ladies need to grow a pair of balls. This isn't the sewing circle where nobody is allowed to say anything bad incase some poor love gets upset. Constructive criticism is what helps us learn see our mistakes and better ourselves. It's the easy option to say nice vid every time. If people arnt told then they will never learn. And as for vids of dogs, get the DVD, A Few Ferrets More and in the last 20 mins of the film you will se my black bitch working over some very hard ground. Or stick it up on here if you can. 1 Quote Link to post
Guest vin
get that little yapper out on the lamp with some really easy sitters..try and build its confidence up and run it alone to start it off. if fact i would be lamping them fields where your ferretting and showing them bunnies who the boss is mate.. see how they fly back towards the sets when you lamp em..giv the dog the advantage for a while..it might help with the yapping if it doesnt get the chance to yap before its got something in its mouth a good few times.. get it on some fresh unlamped sitters and walk it onto em if you can to start off..so when it jumps up the dog is onto it immediatley and hopefully in its mouth before it has chance to open up..keep doing that for a few nights picking all easy stuff and no hard runs..it might help.. p.s. keep at em.. looks like a great place to be out enjoying yourself. Advice me arse, tell em to do one, you and ur dogs are doing what ye love to do, think you will find that most dogs have a wee fault somewhere along the line, some lurchers wont retrieve to hand, some wont come back on the recall, its all part of what we do and if you are happy with you dogs then fcuk to everyone else, by the way what way is the hairy one bred???
