terrier410 53
great little pack you have there your red and white in pic 3 looks the spit of my copper. is it a bitch or dog.? is a bitch she only 14mts she is comeing on well she is a little timid as you probly no beagles are funny dogs when they want ? i have a 18 month old tri colour(shankly) built like a brick shit house starting to pick up a scent well, speaks when standing with us and listening to our other hounds when working away but still only yelping on a scent (lovely deep speak on him too!).and yet he is shit scared of everyone,me bessie comes into the yard 3 times a week and brings a couple of dog biscuits for each hound(just to stop the fckrs jumping up at him)can't stop them, don't think i would want to.? but shankly runs away and stands away. don't think he will change but its not a bad thing.copper the dog in the pics ignores ppl we meet out but not with fear but the white bitch in the bottom picture will go to anyone(fckn whore)the terriers i used to keep back in the foxing days were all the same jump in anyones car. atb t410 Quote Link to post

Foxtrot 24
We started our pack 15 years ago, with 5 beagles and let me say it was some of the best hunting ever! Today we have a pack split 50/50 between Welsh hounds and beagles and the balance is perfect. Our beagles are a size that they can keep up with the Welsh hounds, but also ideal size for tight cover. We hunt some exceptionally tight pieces at times and this is when the beagles come into their own. The music from them is amazing also, and the sound of Welsh hounds and beagles in full cry make the hair stand on my neck just thinking of it! Quote Link to post

Beagle boy 1
I hunt with the north warwickshie beagles I whip in and hunt them when I'm allowed =p we've bumped into the atherstone fox hounds pre ban and ebbed up hunting to get for about an hour. And they were pretty much the same speed wise but beagles hunt all in a circle together where as fox hounds usually hunt in a line one behind the other like, I still think the old say that by the time a fox hound has thought of a beagle has been and done it is very very true!
