I occasionally take two dogs but i find it can be bloody annoying when you are trying to lamp the dog running and the other is pulling, also retrieves can be hit and miss as the dog doesn't want to bring its catch near the other dog, slip leads getting tangled etc etc, fecking annoying so nowdays i usually just lamp one dog. But whilst i say its very hard to get enough work to TEST two dogs it is a godsend when one dog picks up an injury, comes into season etc etc. Its always good to have a youngster coming through the ranks although you must force yourself to give the young dog the graft as its so easy to rely on old faithfull............

very good points about running two dogs there mate! my lass won't let me take one out more than other!

All depend on the game your after , everybody has there own thoughts on a good dog theres a saying another mans rubbish is another mans treasure , a dog thats good with with teeth all.game wont make

the old dog i have here was a very good fast dog and great on big game when in his prime .Lads that have had lurchers 20 odd year have said that after seeing him go .He is 13 now and killled a fox las

Take a good dog to land holding little and you will catch little, take an average dog to land holding masses of game and the dog will bag up everytime.Which is the best dog?,Always have a spare dog in

if your only out on a weekend for one night with two dog's they not gonna be very good tbh! i've got 2 here now one 17 week and one 7 will do just fine with 2 as the last one i was out 6 nights a week, i've seen me do 13 nights in a row with the last one so should turn out with good dogs!
thats no problem doing 13 nights in a row on rabbits but u would do 13 nights on on other type or game single handed chum

All depends, i must admit i have never run any of mine 13 nights on the trot BUT the no problem on rabbits comment makes mchuckle, thats all depends, if you are having one or two runs fine, but if you are catching 30-40 a night i think thats a very special dog in my eyes................

Even 10 a night it would take some doing  .I always fancy one dog ,but then dont fancy sitting at home, listing to thewind blowing, because the dogs lame.So 2 it is,That dos somtimes mean lamping coming home and going of with the other one because it needs a run, kind of takes the fun out of it.

or you could put all the work in to one dog for it to die then your left sitting round sick of your life waiting for pups to come of age!

so you only take one dog at a time then? i've never ran 2 dog's on before but i am going to, my mate dose and he takes both and gives them slip for slip evereythings run single, i'l do the same!

One at a time for me,you would need to be very patiant and have robotic dogs to try and lamp 2.

one thing i'm a bit short on sometimes..lol his dogs are like that!

when i was younger and had no job and a lot more time i always had 2 dogs and went lamping 3 or 4 nights a week and a bit of work during the day and i would say they were a good bit better than average !

i think a lot does boil down to the amount time you got to be fair but also nice to have a couple dual purpose dogs as well, game permiting

i have 3 lurchers and they all get plenty of work,i might take 2 out with me during the day bushing a few rabbits and foxes and then i could be out the same night lamping with the other dog,my old dog is a 9 year old 3/4 greyhound 1/4 collie still going well but is starting to slow a bit but he is great for bringing my son out because he is easy to handle but my 2 wheaten x bitch's are a bit strong for him 1 is 18mths and the other is 5 years old,and hail, rain or snow they get out to do some sort of work every day unless they are sore or something comes up unexspected

that keeps me away from the house for some reason, but even having 3 lurchers i have had night's or day's i wished i had another because all were sore or 2 sore and 1 in season or something
