Coffee Table 43
As per title i've found a lump on one of the ferrets necks, how long it's been there i have no idea as ive been away all week and my mother cleaned them out, she did give them the once over while handing them but missed the lump. Several sources say it could just be a cist but others are suggesting a cancer of some sort. The vet will be contacted shortly. Anyone had any experiences with lumps on ferrets and what was the outcome? Richard Quote Link to post

BazB 37
ive just had a lump removed from one of my jills. but it was on her side. its away for a biopsy but vet said he thinks it a oil gland that was clogged. still cost me 72 quid tho and made a right mess of her. think thats her out for the season anyway, but we'll see Barry Quote Link to post
Coffee Table 43
Cheers guy's, vet closed just moments before i noticed the lump so i'll phone from work on monday and take her in after work. I hope it's just a cyst or adrenal disease as she is a valued member of the team just like the others and it would be a shame to lose her at just two years old. Richard Quote Link to post

ferret100 47
Just let vet take a look, lumps can be many things, a lump on the top side of the neck may well be a cyst/oil gland blockage or an abscess, so not always sinister. If the fert seems happy and healthy otherwise, then don't worry too much until its seen. Abt, let us know the news. Quote Link to post

mick20 23
A couple of seasons back one of my jills had a lump on her neck, it was underneath and to one side and came up fairly quickly. Trip to vet and £32 later the abscess was drained, course of antibiotics and she was fine. Quote Link to post
