Where are all the rabbits ?

Recently myself and a couple of other people i know who hunt fairly close to each other have been struggling to find the rabbits Not that any of us have encountered massive bags at night but still normally enough to know you've been out and the dog has worked hard and tired enough from running conies for a few hours.

 

I'm just wondering what would your average night would consist of ?

 

i.e amount of slips, average amount of conies brought home, number of rabbits seen etc.

Myself and Tyla we're out last night for 4 hours ( 10-2 light rain + good wind ) and had 6 slips each on land we hadn't touched since the beginning of the year We did see rabbits but not nearly as many as you would expect . Just wondered if anyone else is experiencing a drop in rabbit numbers on the land they hunt ?

So bad here, if you even see 2 rabbits. let alone run them it has been a good night. The numbers were never high but i could come home with approx 3-6 rabbits most nights out. There have been several rabbits spotted dead above ground, so i am starting to think we have RHD here

same here mate one night scrapping about for a run or two, then another night the place is alive with stuff.

same here just depends on the nite realy we lamped one farm we have bout 2 weeks ago got 26 rabbits and a fox went back 3 nites later same conditions as the first nite all we got is 9 hard earned rabbits

Blackstaff. I was down your way early to mid summer and so a stupid amount of rabbit, and not kits, but grown adults, they were everywhere. I re-visited the same spot at the end of the summer and saw very very few in comparisson. . . .

We were wondering where all the rabbits were the other week, then we saw three cats hunting in the fields! Thought they were foxes at first in the lamp...I don't bother going out now if it's dry and warmish - they stay indoors if the weather's bad!

Theres hardley anything round hear, we've had myxi twice and have seen the shooters out

so they've wiped most out.
