The Duncan 802
I think I'll get one and give it a try. I do lose knives occasionally! Sick of losing stuff that costs a lot more. Quote Link to post
tomburras 2,730
great knives! but i have noticed i had to give mine a quick wipe with an oily cloth after use or they have rusted very quickly. Quote Link to post
xraiderx 94
Well got my opinel yesterday not the no8 the no7 the chap at redrae phoned me to say the no8 was out of stock so went for the no7 blade 1/8 inch smaller total lenth 1inch smaller. First impession was there very light then opened it up like the simple but very afective locking device the blade is very sharp and a nice shape. A tenner well spent i think Anyway off out now to sort the sqizzers out heres one from friday http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a418/xraiderx61/DSC00297.jpg http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a418/xraiderx61/DSC00298.jpg CHEERS GARRICK Quote Link to post

slugger8770 0
I must admit that the opinel is an excellent range of knives, personally i like the carbon steel not the stainless version as it takes a better edge I.M.H.O. Although i did snap the tip off one when i threw it in the ground... You will not be dissapointed with your purchase. Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
The Opinel are great. Take a fantastic edge, truly razor sharp if you're half good with a whetstone or oil stone, and seems to hold it well. I've never seen a stainless Opinel, but have had numerous carbon steel ones, and have never had a problem with rust. Be aware, they are classed as a lock knife, so would come under "offensive weapon" legislation if carried outwith hunting situations. You need to show "good reason" to have them on you in public!!! gnipper 6,503
I've had many an opinel over the years and the stainless is the best i've had imo, they edge may not be as good but its good enough you don't need a razor for a pocket knife. It doesn't rust up in minutes like the carbon does either. Quote Link to post
