Firearms Interview Monday!!

Just had a call from West Yorkshire Police FEO and hes coming to interview me on Monday. I know this topic has been covered before.... but what sorts of questions

will i be asked?? (I know about tea and biscuits!!)

Relax just try and be normal thats all they are looking for . As long as you have the reason to have and a place to use and your of this planet you will be fine keep cool good luck.

Lady came to see me and hardly mentioned firearm.Had the coffee pot waiting for her. Asked where i intended to use it so she could speak to landowner. Then she asked what i was going to shoot, i.e. rabbits, crows pigeons etc. Then all she spoke about was her dogs and my dogs. She did check out my cabinet and ammo safe to make sure they were secure and then she spent the next half hour outside looking at my dogs and kennels. She told me that she had already done my background checks and it was a formality to visit to see if the person is of sound mind or a toss*r basically. She was sound as a pound and went away saying i would hear from her in a week or so but there should be no problem as all seemed ok. She called my sons boss the same day to ensure i had plenty land to shoot on and my licenses for shotgun and 22 rimfire arrived a week later. I just wish i had asked for it years ago. Its a very efficent way to control bunnies and my freezer is always full.

Nothing to worry about, Like said just more of a formality that an interrogation time my feo came to see me at 18 ish he just wanted to check that the cabinet was in ok etc,only took ten mins,all he asked was had I used guns before then made me chuckle by asking if I drank Stella for breakfast ha ha, I said nahh only fosters.he laughed and off he went a week later all sorted,

And on the visit for fac a few years back he checked the ammo box I had installed checked the serial numbers on my shotguns corresponded to my cert as I has had lots of different ones and some I had sold had not been taken off the license,land had been passed before so no calls or land visits for him to do,week or two later job done, just be cool answer questions and you will be done snd dusted, so good luck and happy hunting

just be yourself after all as said the background check has already been done, so 95% of the decision has already been made, the visit is just a physical check to make sure your not living in a crackhouse with rose west and ted bundy as lodgers :laugh:

Got it granted - only after i went out with a current FAC holder first to see if i was a safe shot/person and knew how to handle a 22. The FEO rang the person i went out with and licence came through 3 days after.

I was asked why I wanted a .22 and a .17. He also asked me how far would a .223 round go if it didn't hit anything!! I told him it depended on too many factors but in reality I wouldn't pull the trigger if I didn't know where the round would end up. Which is basically what he wanted to hear.

When they ask you about why so many rifles, dont say as some one i know of ' just in case innit ' Be ya self, ya nowt to worry, as said all the paperwork been done & dont bite when he tell ya the cuppa is scit or the house stinks of dogs !!
