Carraghs Gem 1,675
as long as its in good health and is able to keep up, my 9yr old bitch rarely comes out now but she was born lazy short answer; 9 or 10 for semi retirement. maybe12+ for full retirement some dogs will be happy to continue working longer than that though Edited November 2, 2011 by Carraghs Gem 2 Quote Link to post
mudd dog 128
If the dogs still happy to do it's job and it's in good health there's no point in retiring it because of it's age. Quote Link to post
rob84 112
work keeps the healthy reduce it a bit as age goes on, a mates jack russell was well into double figures and half blind but still loved going for a few hours ratting at night! Quote Link to post

Plong 21
You just know when there too old you don't need to ask people, when it's too old you will know. Quote Link to post
busterbuster1969 313
Dan keep the dog bushing until she dont want to go anymore or until she is either blind or deaf... Regarding the pups, bring two on mate.. doing it myself at the momen, hard work but the pay off will be worth it in the end Quote Link to post
the_stig 6,614
i`ve spent a lot of time running people`s pups on -- i`ve run as many as 4 on rats with the older dogs without many problems -- you may have to split em up at times sometimes 2 together arse about more than 3 or 4 will, 2 will combine and try to be dominent over you ... Alli 923
LIKES BIN SAID. AS LONG AS SHES FIT AND HEALTHY PLUS GETTING THEM OUT KEEPS THEM FIT ITS WHEN THERE IDLE YOU START GETTING HEALTH PROBLEMS. IF YOU THINK YOU CAN COPE WITH 2 PUPS LET THE OLDER BITCH BRING THEM ON. GOOD LOOK. Quote Link to post
