secretagentmole 1,701
Seconded Jim Hogan at Redbeck, seeing as how he has also designed a few air rifles in his time like! Nice bloke to meet as well! Warning, Redbeck is a seductive place to visit, lots of nice things lurk in those doors (Mary has bought 2 rifles there, both at a lot less than they go for round here)... secretagentmole 1,701
Also can verify that Adi at A&m more than cuts the mustard. Sold a gun yesterday, gun was supposed to have had a broken exhaust valve fixed by a gunsmith down here, yesterday evening seller reports exhaust valve type problems again. Now seller in Norfolk, gun serviced (allegedly) in Norfolk, buyer in Ferrybridge, South Yorks! Oh garden implements! Adi is supposed to be open at 2pm on a Wednesday. He quotes us the same price as the original gunsmith to do the work, opens early, especially for us, takes the gun in, identifies the problem (metal flakes on exhaust valve left from someone skimming the valve on a lathe), cures problem, has a general tinker and ensures everything is working as it should. This was done when he was not open, to help us. That is the sort of service you get from top line gunsmith! We did get offered a cup of tea this time as well! Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Addition to last message: Using Adi at A&M can result in a good cash saving, why not ring the good chap that he is and get an estimate for what needs doing, then do not be surprised if he is cheaper than any other. Then do not be surprised if the price is less than he originally estimated, but do not be surprised if you walk out the door having spent the saving on something else that he has for sale, just a friendly warning like :whistling: :whistling: Quote Link to post
