TOMO 26,458
why is he going to have to shoot it???,, madness, you lot think dogs are machines, they all have difrent abilaties,,,, yes there are dogs out there, that will run 3 hares of one slip,, and kill all 3,,, i have seen it,,, but these dogs are not as comon as people would have you belive. the other thing is, dogs that do that, tend to be saluki saturated,, where as this dog, has lurcher/wheaten blood ,, make shure the dog is sound health wish,,, grey vet/boneman, whatever,,, after that run him, give him a break between runs ,, then see where you are,,,, maybee this dog needs half hour between runs,,so what,, like i said its not a machine 9 Quote Link to post
Guest AngelicAcid
Its all hard man attire. If a dog does that of what you ask, then he/she isnt a jacker. But if you want a dog for a job-s then get a Cross that has a chance of best meeting those needs, not a one that hasnt. that way, you have a decent chance of success. Quote Link to post
wi11ow 2,657
only you can judge if you think hes fit CAN he take three runs IVE seen dogs stop when not fit then they will never stop when fit but only you have to feed him and clean up his shit take him out again and give him two runs with a breather inbetween and you judge Quote Link to post

There's a lot of dogs out there that have not got 4 minutes in them, even when they are fresh ,let alone getting straight on another one without a rest between. bunnybasher69 56
As long as the dog works the way you want it to you should be happy with it. Like said they aren't machines. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about your dog your the one feeding it. Quote Link to post
Guest born to run1083
If I owned that dog I would make it as fit as you possible can, get it behind the car for a fast trot for a fair few mile a day, build up until you can get around 5-8 mile with him behind the car, this is great cardio then also if you lamp plenty of time on rabbits with loads of runs again all for fitness, then try him again, long ear dogs have to be the fittest of all and only people in the game fully understand that. if the dogs as fit as he can be and then lacks the heart and has no underlined injury then you know what you've got on your hands. But I wouldn't run him on them again until he's super fit, as youcould be mentally scaring him and that's what does the most damage. hopes that helps Edited November 2, 2011 by born to run1083 Quote Link to post
salukixgrey 779
the dogs not bred to be a out n out stayer if thats what u want then get a dog from merlin n eve lines or out of parents that u no can stay abit, jmo, and likes been said maybe fitness, just take him again and see what happens if it happens again and again then you got a jacker. i had one that would run and kill mostly everything and then one day he pulled up got him fitter but he did it again just a jacker though and though, gave him to a pet home. theres no point feeding rubbish, atb Quote Link to post

hairyface 211
at the end of the day fella, it doesnt matter what other folk think of yer dog, only your opinion matters as your the one that feeds it and your the only it has to please. i wouldnt call it a jacker if it had already ran 4minutes then set off without a breather.,having said that 3yrs ago i had a bitch that had caught 3(hard runs) then before i could lead her up, she took off after another, she hadnt a cat in hells chance of catching it, but she ran, and ran, and ran, then slowed down stumbled and then fell over and died, she never quit, but theres not a day goes by that i wished she had, atb with it mate 1 Quote Link to post

Qbgrey 4,119
Some idiots on here agree mate, was dog 100% fit or dragged straight out of the kennel,if he coursed for 4mins then the dogs got stamina in my eyes, also did he pick up a injury,or strain on the first course,as said if he aint got alot of saluki in him he may take longer to get his wind back, this is not called a jacker .ive had lurchers almost come to a stop some nights, its because they given you thier all, they dont run on deisel.if you worried about losing a few quid and looking a twat then you better look a the for sale section that says 5 out 5 every time garunteed, this dog will make you rich.all for 150 rubs.
