brendy mc l 694
take him out again and give him a good hard hunt but b sensable work him the way u would but give him one or two more runs ull find out that way because he not use to it but i dont think 75 yards is a long way for a dog not to pull him in as u say he was half harted when he took of if there plenty of saluki in him id be worried hes your dog ull no your self Quote Link to post
yeeharr 41
He didn't jack. Don't worry about the time he was running, worry about how he was running during those 4 minutes. A lot of people have fantastically high expectations of what their dogs should do, there must be plenty of disappointed dog owners out there. Perhaps that's why there are lots of dogs for sale, because owners believe the stuff they read on the Internet and think their dogs are sub standard. 2 Quote Link to post

thomashyne 54
hi all, was wondering what peoples opinion on a jacker is. today i slipped me 2year old dog on a longear had a cracking run around 4 minutes and killed it. then another hare jumped up about 75 yards away and he started to chase it half hearted for about 20 seconds and the hare got miles away and he stoped. he always gives 100%. would people consider this as a jacker? where did you run him Quote Link to post

Tiny 7 1,694
Try him again fellah and see, Some dogs got more wind than other obviously, But its hard for anyone sitting on here to judge really cause we never seen the run But if iam honest it sounds like he jacked on the second hare, Even after the 4 min run and his quarry lifted 75yd in front and he seen it went then stopped IMHO ya he jacked, But get him hehind a few and see...
