lurcherterrierferret 2
Hi I don't shoot but my dad has asked for a .410 shotgun cleaning kit for christmas. Seen some cheap ones and some dear ones, don't really know what to look for can anyone advise on what to buy or not to buy? Thank you in advance, any help much appreciated. Quote Link to post
markha 99
Cleaning rod, metal or wood it doesnt matter too much on a shotty as the bore is so big you shouldnt be able to scratch the bores A screw in brass brush in .410 calibre to scrub the stubborn deposits loose A Plastic screw in 'jag' A screw in fluffy mop to dry the bore out after cleaning A bag of patches or better - a roll of cleaning material - I used some stuff made by napier, it had a rough side for scrubbing and smooth side for polish Some kind of bore cleaning fluid - I just spray Legia Oil down mine then scrub with jag and patches till clean and dry works a treat. A bottle of thin gun oil to wipe over the metal parts Tube of grease for lubing the box lock and hinges/pressure bearing surfaces. You can buy them all indivdually and this way may be a little more expensive but far better than the shitty yellow duster crap gun oil and obligator jag that comes in a £12 cleaning kit! Your Dad will thank you much more when he opens that kit up But as with all things funds allowing etc Quote Link to post
