cooklanddeerhounds 45
I bought Doxhope Knight Errant (sire) doxhope Justine (dam) in 2001 and 2002. i bred a litter in 2007 and kept 4 for myself 2 dogs and 2 bitches and sold one to a good friend from Derby called Dave Rhodes. ive still got the 2 dogs and 2 bitches which i called cookland. The dogs are what i have used on the greyhound bitches. As for the mating of the 14 month old it was unintentional, he caught the bitch and only lined for 3 minutes. Around the same time i went to Scotland to use the 14 month olds father with my deerhound bitch but she didn't take. this was a costly exercise, if I'd known I could have saved time and money. As for being a puppy peddler i have only ever bread 2 pure deerhound litters and 5 greyhounds in the 10 years of breeding. atb 4 Quote Link to post

I went down to get the brindle bitch, the one the owner wanted to keep, but when I saw them, I realy fancied the big black dog pup, it was a cracker !! Anyhow, I stayed with my choice, and Davey, off here, got the dog pup. They were a lovely looking, well brought on litter, be interesting to hear how they are doing at two year old. Cheers. He saw the kennels and the hairy dogs and said his son in Sunderland bred Deerhounds ???? Cheers. Quote Link to post

gibbo1973 187
i am no way biased because this is my first x dh/gh------ its just that the lads who i got in touch with put me onto good stock, some may think trev will be breeding too many i think thats rubbish as he says 7 from 10 yrs its because its supply and demand everyone would do the same if you've 7 people for pups why not breed if youve good sound stock ?how many has he gave away or culled ?same as bill and other deerhound x breeders . dave platt, bill, even hancock(collie) some one must want a pup i know you dont have to be big breeders or "old ,ha ha bill " to know your business but when you mention young hands knowing more or the same as top breeders some times yes it true but in my eyes that could be also so wrong as some one thinks their dog is the bees knees and breed for sake of breeding sake ,thats why theres so much shite and culling going on or 1st year failures , i will stick to good quality stock with a sound background as ive been stung twice before yes its been a good topic also been a queer one but its a forum everyone has different useages for different tasks but shouldnt slag one off if they dont like the breed happy hunting wheather it bedy x collie x deer x saluki xEACH TO THEIR OWN and sorry bull x, if ive missed anyone out sorry just knackered from shooting all day lee 1 Quote Link to post
