Does it really matter what the parents are like for catching....how many bull terriers, collies etc can actually catch a hare; and people still use these..

I bought Doxhope Knight Errant (sire) doxhope Justine (dam) in 2001 and 2002. i bred a litter in 2007 and kept 4 for myself 2 dogs and 2 bitches and sold one to a good friend from Derby called Dave Rh

if you brought a dog of him last year and he didnt last long theres your answer.! you run them earlie and broke them? Me and my brother got 1 f1 each both cookland 11 and 14 month they might end up

I dont care what anybody says useing a 14mth old dog as a stud is wrong in any breed or type nevermind a large animal like a deerhound or deerhound cross, theres no way they are fully developed or even seen a season and i dont care if its from a line either and ye are taking a gamble on good blood coming through in a nice tight line, even the best bred dogs throw crap at 14mth old how can ye say ye have put the best to the best ye dont even know what ye have in a dog at 14mths trevor cook is breeding to many pups its common knowledge and in my eyes thats a peddlar thats my opinion, and i am quite suprised with your comments bill have ye a vested interest in cooks stock or something ??

No vested interests in cookland deerhounds or any other persons deerhounds matie, he did start his breeding using dogs from mine years ago, but they will be pretty diluted of Doxhope blood by now I would have thought..hey, speak to trevor, tell him your feelings if you think strongly about him breeding pups

ok thanks think his dogs will be 6 -8 not sure like

think trev tried to get along on this web site but like yourself and the rest who bring decent topics and a little to a site just get slated so they tend not to comment as much if at all

end of day you may as well just personally e mail them on your topics and info and keep it to people who you can rely and trust and keep in touch on a regular basis

Not sure matie, dogs hes using could be half Doxhope..not seen Trevor for a hell of a long time

was Knights Errant origionaly yours, Bill; or bred from your stock ?

Cheers.

Yes matie your right, we bred it, out of our Becky, a very good worker, another good litter for us was the H litter, the stud dog I used for this H litter was unbeaten in organised hare course for 5 years or so, the first deerhound to beat him was his daughter, out of the H litter..

Digressing, people have been on about dogs mating bitches at 14 month, the stud we used for Knights Errant won his first 32 dog stake at 15 month, and a few weeks later won his second..
