littletimmy 71
We've Had a shite start to ares. They don't seem to be about this season and the ones that are, are shy. And that seems to be the case everywhere we go and we are putting the miles in as usual. Ashamed to say, Not managed more than a one in a night this season. Everyone from by me a speak to is having a bad time of it. How are you finding the numbers where you lamp? If you have noticed a decrease in numbers, what do you put this down to? Increase in shooters? long cold winter last year? Too many lads lamping? Something else? Discuss. 1 Quote Link to post

That's because where you are seeing them mate you cannot shoot them, but there are plenty of folk out trying to lamp them with dogs and not catching them. Hence quite good numbers but shy foxes. I heared there is even a bloke trying to lamp with a spaniel Quote Link to post

Discuss. lot of lads lamping now and a lot running poor dogs out that are only educating the foxes.we have a good many caught on lamp this season but have had our share of poor nights too.out for 3 hours this week didn't even get a run but one spot we called last week and nothing showed we hunted with the teagles and killed 5 with the lurchers,so there you go. wirral countryman 2,110
They're all still lying in the cover round here, only seen 1 to ground as yet but numbers are definitely down on last season,it was a lot cooler than this with ground frost and certainly more rain in october/ november last year, hopefully the weather will turn this next week or so,once food starts getting short and they start getting hungry we normally see a few more mouching about,we'll get a truer picture this next month, good hunting,WM Quote Link to post
charlie chaser 11
Shy round my way wouldn't come in under a red filter and wham plus decreased number, changed calls to a dying hare and had good effect with a chicken distress call with a green filter, worth a try curiosity always gets the better of the sly one ATB cc Quote Link to post
