tegater 789
A few years ago I had a perception acadia kayak, and used it for fishing on holidays only. I cut down a cheap spinning rod to about 2 foot, and then used it static or almost static, to jig a team of feathers for mackeral, and pollock. Yes it was good and very enjoyable, especially the time of Ardnamurchan when basking sharks were right alongside! Quote Link to post
Plong 21
Yes started last year and really enjoy it. Quote Link to post

CillianF 1
Kayak fishing is one of the best ways to fish! You can fish coastline that you cant access easily from the shore , you can fish lakes that you cant launch a boat in , its cheaper than buying a boat and the kayak can easily be transported on the roof of the car! Great for keeping fit and healthy too! Quote Link to post
Fishslayer 10
Yes! Excellent way to access waters that shore-bound and motor boat anglers cannot. Good for float trips and camping. Cheers, Mark Quote Link to post
blunderbust 4
Been doing it for over 3 years now although have to admit haven't done it for a few months. I use a Kaskazi Dorado and as you say the catch rate certainly goes up once you start getting out. Quote Link to post

ivebeen 176
I have a 14foot Perception kayak i use for fishing and recreation. Its not built to fish out of, but that does not stop me! I fish for alot of Bass, Trout, and panfish while using it. I keep meaning to take it into some saltwater bays and catch something big enough to really drag me around in it,,a big ray would be fun to catch in a kayak. Quote Link to post
lloydus 29
I had a prowler 13 fully rigged up for sea fishing - Two stainless steel rod rests, anchor etc Used it around south wales in the bristol channel. Mainly penarth, porthcawl and gower etc. Plenty of bass, mackerel and cod to be had off them. Was good fun but sold it due to lack of use. Quote Link to post
