AndrewEdwardDennis 9
as stated i was walking him this morning and he went lame on his back right leg, he can put his leg down but not for very long. I'm thinking it might be a splinter because he was running through thick cover, I have inspected his pads but its really difficult to see anything with them being black so if it is a splinter does anyone know a way of drawing it out? I have bathed his foot in warm salt water for a few minutes to void off any infection. what do you think? Quote Link to post
sallie 67
you could try using magnoplasm paste, only trouble is you dont know for sure it is a splinter/thorn, there are a lot of dozy wasps around at the moment is it possible he was stung? Quote Link to post

I'm not sure, because he only appeared from under cover when he was in lame so I cant really put two and two together so I'm at a bit of a loss as to what it might be Quote Link to post
sallie 67
Difficult isnt it because he could have just pulled something perhaps watch, wait and see. Hope you get it sorted. If there is any swelling you can give half a piriton. Quote Link to post
H U N T E R.. 13
Try touching each pad individually and see if there is any reaction from him an have a good root in between each toe. Is it licking or chewing that paw? Edited October 31, 2011 by H U N T E R.. 1 Quote Link to post
raynardman 519
If he's stopping and chewing his pad on a regular basis this is a sign he's probably has got a thorn or something in it, otherwise it maybe a sprain of some kind Quote Link to post
