Ive been messing with LED torches for a few years now...Some of you may remeber my thread..THE ULTIMATE LAMP.(long time ago)

 

i have a striker with lithium pack and its perfect for the job.

 

but sometimes i like to have something in my pocket that I can have a little sneaky peek about with.

 

i have a Tiablo A9 with aspheric lens..its a cree LED and it runs off 1 X 18650 lithium cell..that is perfect for anyone with a rifle for popping stuff off at about 100-150 yards easy with a tight spot with no spill at all...if you were on a field with lots of game or in the woods etc etc you could do very well with this beam becasue it doesnt overspill onto rest of surrounding area (especially with a silencer).

 

i also have an old MAG with a cree LED kit and an aspheric lens...but unfortunately i dropped the mag and broke the LED.. But the Lens and head throw out such a nice beam i though i would try and salvage the parts.

 

So I have stuffed an old ULTRAFIRE 505B cree Q5 Led torch inside the mag head..then very crudely taped it all in place with some electrical tape..just to see if it works.. also i have put a lighting filter behind the lens to make the tint of the LED less Bluey/white becasue the reflections from the critters of the night are all different with the LED compared to Halogen bulbs and this can be very confusing.

 

Anyway it works ! i have a nice rather tight beam that is good for about 100 yards easy with a little bit of spill but not very much (not even half of the amount of a lightforce)..its just enough for bunnies.

It fits in the pocket very easy..and weighs very little..runs off 2x cr123 lithium batteries they are 3v usually used in cameras etc etc..batts with last a good long while..not sure how long but i would say at least an hour..probably lots more.. I could use my tiablo body with the 18650s and it would be the same..so its not really the body/batts thats important..just the head.

 

Im now waiting on a 75mm aspherical lens to arrive..then im gonna make that into a poachers pocket rocket.. that should be perfect for any type of lamping work.

 

any engineers out there fancy helping me out..LOL ?

i want someone to make me a ring that fits over one of my torch bodys that I can then screw the mag head onto..its supposedly easy if you have the tools..

my main idea is to get a new pocket sized lithium/LED lamp thats good for all game and fits in yer pocket and lasts all night with maybe a couple of 18650 cells.

 

I know the ones ive got now work..ive tested em..LOL.

 

next idea is to get the 75mm aspheric lens into some sort of host. with a good strong LED thats got a nuetral tint similar to halogen.

 

this should give me a good sized tight beam with lots of throw.
