leeroy 29
They are a good rifle , I have had one, the trigger can be heavy but with a bit of work I got mine to be much lighter and crisp and shoot better, but there are no adjustments on this trigger . My Cz was every bit a shooter as the Sako Finfire that I have now . They are a simple rifle with not a lot to go wrong that shoot well and are fairly cheap I would have another if I needed one. My rifle had also been cut down and still shot well. 1 Quote Link to post

Adam16 1
I've got one as well mate can't fault it's accuracy out to 75yards it would probably do more with some more practice but I won't shoot quarry any further than 75yards with it and that would be on a still day! The trigger is the only gripe I have as it is heavy but there are cheap kits which are meant to be fantastic but I haven't got around to getting one yet. On the whole though it's a cracking little rifle not too heavy and with a mod on relatively quiet. Quote Link to post

ajaxinvincible 5
Why the american? Quote Link to post
bob.243 8,755
Great rifles, you can get a trigger kit here http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=rimfiremagic&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCAQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rimfiremagic.co.uk%2F&ei=eDW9Toj0Ao-w8QO_4qyGBA&usg=AFQjCNEnjfBnbQrahOnyF9C2AeHnlgea3Q for around £14. andyf 144
Hi; There's nothing to touch the CZ series out there (for the money), I've had two down the years, and if it wasn't for the 'rules' I would have kept them. The 16" barrel is just fine, I had a 16" 17HMR American and it was excellent. As has been said an Eric Brooks ('Rimfire Magic') trigger kit fixes the 'tractor' trigger, (By the way it's just a set of springs and a roll pin spacers, you pick the one's you want, and if you can wire a plug you can fit it yourself). I have a Finnfire Varmint these days and it is easily the best Rimfire I have ever used, but the CZ is so close you won't notice, and the Rabbits won't either! Quote Link to post
IanB 0
Why the american? Why do you need a heavy barreled gun in a .22lr.. The americans are lighter all round and narrower profile, I have both and I'd rather the american over the varmint any day. Quote Link to post
The Duncan 802
Get an american rather than the varmint.. +1 from me - the varmint barrel is the only one that is supposed to be fully floating and can have intermittent accuracy issues because of this. I speak from (slightly) bitter experience. The American I tried belonging to a friend had no such probs. Incidentally, the trigger is adjustable. I adjusted mine and improved it immensely. Cheers Duncan. Quote Link to post
moses 5
I went for the american over varmint. Lighter and narrower, i have it in17 hmr and would never sell it. I have also had the trigger done, it is a must. With the wildcat mod it only adds 2 inch to the barrel length which keeps it balanced Quote Link to post
ajaxinvincible 5
Cheers guys a complete eye opener. Quote Link to post
Sunray 1
Another vote for the CZ452 American. I have two of them, a 17HMR and a .22LR, both with 16 inch barrels. A friend had a Varmint version of the 22LR but found it too heavy to cart around for hours at a time and he changed it for the American version after he tried mine. I would still fit a sling though!
