Thief. Simple.   You made no effort to find out who it belonged to,, you just stole it.. just as bad as someone finding your dog in the wood, and stealing that.

my lad as one o these,he's 10 and wildlife mad,he asked for money for his birthday so he could get one,and i must admit some of the images he's captured as surprised me,i can see him being the next ch

. You've taken something that someone has purposely gone out and took the time and effort to set up. They would have enjoyed the excitement of picking it up and viewing the footage 1000 times more tha

If x38 keeps it for 6 months, informs the police he has it in his possession, that he will release it to anybody who can provide proof of ownership, such as box with the serial number on it, he will return in to them. After all how was he to know it was not lost on his permission, where the public had no right to be as it was private property?

Laws of trespass apply to morons with cameras as well as morons hunting things you know!

That sounds a much better approach. Though in your op you don't mention anything about you having permission to be there, so you're opening yourself up to thieving allegations.

On the plus side if everything works out ok and the owner gets their camera back, you just might be able to come to some agreement on info sharing, to see what's about. But if they're some weirdo just wanting to catch any hunters out, then make sure they know they're not welcome!! :whistling:

Anyway you look at it..........its theft, and from someone involved in hunting or wildlife.. shameful thing to do really, theres thousands that would do the same...but it doesn't make it right.
