daughter making purse nets

Recommended Posts

iv been making purse nets now for just over 12 months and over the last few weeks my daughter has been asking me to let her have a go at making them because shes only 8 years old i was a bit undesided at first but then i gave in and let her have ago we started off with garden twine but it kept snapping so i desided to give her ago with some hemp i tied the hemp to the ring and done the first 2 meshes so she could see how it was done then i let her have a go we were only doing it 10 meshes wide as it was her first go she made a couple of mistakes to start with but soon got the hang of it so i left her to finish the first row when i had a look i noticed that she'd gone wrong on one in the middle but i was very impressed with what she had done it wasnt going to come loose so we carryed on to the next row i started her off with the first 2 meshes and she carried on she got tangled twice so i sorted that out for her and let her carry on by herself she started the third row and finished it by herself and we had to leave it there as she said her hands were starting to hurt i am really impressed with how she got on heres some pics what do you think.

Once she has caught her first bunny in one, she will be hooked. I agree though, get onto spun poly, with some bright colours. That's terrific though for an 8 year old. Well done her!
