ferret locator collars a pain

Recommended Posts

Hi all, just a quick one. Been ferreting for a good couple of years without a locator. Never lost a ferret by the way. just spent a lot of time sitting waiting. Well took the plunge this year and bought a mk3 . Problem is the locator collars keep on catching on the nets as the ferrets pass through and messing them up..Any tips to stop this happening would be much apprecitiated. Thanks all

i put a elastic band on the collar double it a few times then pass the end of the strap through it. just keps the end of the strap tidy and tight with no flapping end.i find the buckle catches sometimes. so when the collar is fitted i put a few turns of electricians tape round the buckle.also just check that the collar is fitted correctly not loose.find doing these things help a bit. obviously a small jill will come through the net much easier than a fair sized hob.
