deerhound working 3 Posted March 27, 2007 Report Share Posted March 27, 2007 (edited) a friend of mine was out walking and his little bitch went to ground in aold warren after a fox now this bitch is mute never a sound just locks even if shes getting hammered mute so he went home for box and collor and digging gear was back on the warren set 20 mins no sound ran another bitch but she was to big to get on so started digging tube after tube it was all sand below ground 8hrs nothing went back at 3.30 am nothing not a sound so as he sat there thinking what to do he decided to run a ferret to try and find the body at least hed know so that morn put finder on ferret the ferret was in and out up and down and went missing after ten mins he found the ferret a hundred feet from the mouth 6 feet down so started digging not knowing was it a dog are a rabbit he was going to any way the ferret left the spotas he was half way down but he kept going and he came in on his bitch she had the fox sorted and still locked so only for the ferret he would have never got her Edited March 27, 2007 by deerhound working Quote Link to post

woodga 170 Posted March 28, 2007 Report Share Posted March 28, 2007 molly off this forum got a slating for this same reason just the other day only mollys dog had never seen quarry or been below ground .this dog was a worker so there fore should of had a collar on imo be cause as was proved when they are off the leash if they get a scent they will go to ground you were very lucky this time mate im pleased you got the dog ok but next time if there is a next time things might not go in your favour do the right thing and collar the dog before you go walking problem solved Quote Link to post

Another time prior, they killed (pre ban) a large vixen in the middle of the day on a public walk, a couple with their kids and 2 staffies had walked past her only moments prior to Jazz finding it There is only one thing you can guarantee about dogs...ANY dog, you can never trust them 100% in any situation.
