Guest Doug
Hard ground jars 'em up, heat knocks them out, and have you checked his temperature? Teeth OK? Toes/nails/joints? Between toes? Clean ears/eyes? A grass seed in the wrong place can make them miserable. Is he eating/drinking/crapping OK? Is there an on-heat bitch nearby? Quote Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
just another thought mate: he hasnt been near any bitches in season has he? sometimes can have funny effects on dogs... Quote Link to post

Guest LEARNER
NEVER RUN HIM WITH A OTHER DOG, I,VE FOUND OUT THROUGH LIFE ,THAT A JUVENILE LURCHER, ALWAYS PICKS UP BAD FAULTS FROM A OTHER DOG, NEVER THE GOOD POINTS, ALSO I THINK ,I,M READIND THAT THIS AS BEEN ONGOING SINCE XMAS, IF SO ITS NOT THE HOT WEATHER, BUT LETS SAY IT IS THE HOT WEATHER, DOING IT NOW ,OR THE DOG BEING RUN DOWN, A COMMITTED, DOG WOULD STILL TRY TO RUN GAME, NOW THE DOG IS 16 MONTHS ,HE MAY BE A SLOW STARTER ,IF SO ,THEN IF YOU WANT THE TRUTH ,AS I SEE IT, I MY SELF WOULD HAVE BEEN A BIT WORRIED ABOUT THIS FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW , I HAVE NOTICED OTHER THE YEARS ,THAT SOME BEDLINGTION CROSSES, HAVE NOT BEEN TRYERS , I KNOW FOR A FACT THIS BREED ,HAS HAD SOME INPROVMENTS PUT IN IT ,A FEW YEARS BACK, WHEN A BREED NEEDS INPROVEMENT ,THEN I STAY AWAY FROM IT, I REMEMBER ,ALL THE BEDDIE CROSSES I,VE SEEN ,AND ONE I WORKED, AND RATED ,VERY HIGHLY, WAS IN THE FIFTYS, BUT I,VE SEEN SOME BAD UNS SINCE, I KNOW THERE ARE GOOD BEDLINGTON CROSSES, BUT SAYING THAT ABOUT 4 YEARS OR SO AGO, I WAS WITH A MATE, WHO HAD A BEDDIE CROSS FROM A PUP ,AND IT JUST HAD NO COMMITMENT AT ALL ,BEING HE HIS A LAD ,WHO MUST HAVE A OUT AND OUT WORKER ,THE DOG WENT TO A PET HOME , I,M NOT SAYING YOUR DOG IS THE SAME ,BUT AT 16 MONTHS ,I WOULD BE A BIT WORRIED IF MY DOG ,WAS NOT CATCHING , OR EVEN BEING UNDER THE WEATHER , NOT SHOWING KEENESS, I WOULD SAY NOW ,I WOULD NEVER LET A DOG RUN ,IF I KNEW IT WAS OUT OF SORTS ,BUT EVERY GOOD LURCHER I,VE OWN ,I KNOW WOULD RUN THE RUN ,IF HAVING TO, DO NOT TAKE WHAT I SAY ,AS LAW, BUT THATS THE WAY I LOOK AT IT. Kane 2
If the dog is usualy busy hunting etc and this was just a one off I would just forget about it,if its happening regularly I would be a bit more concerned. Quote Link to post

Gareth12 225
Had this problem with my collie grey x beddy grey when she was younger, somedays i would take her out and she'd been keen as mustard other's id more or less have to drag her out the door !! She was like this up until about the age of 3 then she just seemed to naturally get over it and havent had a problem since. Maybe if your walking him on strage ground and hes a bit of a shy dog hes just a bit nervous?? otherwise maybe just under the weather a tad Quote Link to post
