johnny 2 367
cheers boys. Personally I've never been one to give a dog stop ends. May be one or two looks, but never contact with prey in stop ends, I'd rather the dog work the earth himself and find alone, that's what I want and that's how I do it. This dog was shown at the end of the dig though, may be I was clutching at straws??? But the moment he looked at the prey then looked at me and started scratching the side of a very well opened up tube, that was proof enough for me. Problem solved now any way, look forward to scouting for a new pup now but won't be rushing. What did you do with the terrier? Quote Link to post

moggs 18
The terrier hasn't been pts, it's at a mates house to be used to mark when ferreting ( one thing he is good at) if it doesn't work out the dog comes back to be to be pts. 1 Quote Link to post

nuggett 58
its a tough game this digging game thats all you can do is give them the best start enter them at sensible age and the rest is up to them does get you down when you given prob 16 to 18 months and they dont turn out as you want there again the pleasure you get from them when they do work thats [bANNED TEXT] this game is about if it was easy we all have kennels full Quote Link to post
moggs 18
Ye I have no shame in giving the dog away for a different job one that he is good at, he's a wonder in the kennel to keep and has a good nose, just not the full package for digging. Quote Link to post
