possibly ill ferret?

Recommended Posts

Your best of taking it to the vet and see what they think.

One of mine went realy skinny overnight, wouldnt eat/drink just wanted to sleep. Took her to vet and turns out

she had bacterial infection. Gave me some probiotics and she was back eating/drinking in a couple of days but the vet

said it wouldnt of gone away itself and she would of eventually died from dehydration.

The main thing is to keep it dehydrated, syringe water, mine seemed to prefer cats milk through a syringe when she wouldnt drink.

The RC convalesence is very good if the vet sells it. Ive got the sachets of powder that you mix with water. Mine love it.

Well i spent till about 11:30pm syringing it Honey and Milk slowly and keeping it warm, (was baltic last night) it took it with no problem, went in this morning, its made it through the night, ..and noticed its poo is still white which is making me very confused..HOWEVER, theres one runny brown poo and thats the only ferret in the hutch at the moment... I phoned the vets and unfortunatly the one closest, the vet is at the other practice. so i phoned them and they dont know why the poo would be white.. he leaves in half an hour and it would take longer than that to get to them so I'll have to see how it goes till' monday :(

:( R.I.P. Little stray ferret, curled up in a ball the exact same way I've been checking on it.. Time to dissinfect the hutch... Can't say I didn't try, Think it must of been an old ferret to be honest... had a better last couple of month than it would of if I hadn't of taken it in at least.

On a side note, How long should I leave the hutch empty after using Jays Fluid before putting the other 2 back in?
