I thought it would be something along them lines. But by rolling in fox poo surley that would decimate their chances just as much as smelling like a dog would? Kye 77
Theres LOADS of theory behind why canines do this....imo, dogs roll in shit, because there dirty animals, just like they enjoy eating shit. Besides, its EASY to judge an animal with human sentiment, because thats a ignorant human trait. The fact that almost ALL animals like to consume or roll in some form of horrendous stinking mess, maybe WE are the strange ones!...although judging buy some of the tarts perfumes out there, maybe dogs 'aint alone in this habit?

gnasher16 30,441
its an instinctive thing they do to cover up there scent for going hunting so they can get closer to there prey without the prey animal smelling them I dont buy it.........some of these pathetic little breeds of dog have virtually no natural doggie instinct whatsoever, only for the fact they still stand on 4 legs do we even still call them dogs........so to have some underlying instinctive behaviour like that i find hard to believe.......... I agree with what Kye says......its only seen as a dirty habit by us humans.....it would be like dogs trying to find reason why we humans drink tea......its only odd to a species that doesnt do it.

I can,t see how a dog rolling in fox shit would improve their hunt either, but there must be a reason for it
