bitch in heat

i was down at one of the local farms today picking up some stock.

when we had loaded up we went into the house for a cuppa.

in the kicten their was a russell bitch in a dog pin.

i asked was she sick, he said no she was in heat.

the thing is this bitch had pups at the end of june.

just thought it strange she came into heat so soon.

does this happen often.

If she had pups at the end of June that would mean she was in heat about April time so 6 months later could be possible and if so its best to be safe than sorry so if in doubt i would keep away from other dogs as you wouldnt want a bitch getting in pup again. It is quite soon though.

i thought the same thing. it was the last week in june when she had the pups.

she is kept under lock and key by him.

its just that i hadnt seen a bitch come around so quick befor.

I suppose in nature anything is possible, i have a bitch that comes in season on the dot 6 months so i know when she is due and do keep her under strict supervision. I have another bitch that comes in season only once a year.

i know that the bitch is over six years and that was her frist liitter.

if that has anything to do with it. i dont think so thought.

she wont be haveing more. going to the vet when the heat passes.
