Thats not to say that a dog out of non working parents will not work but has a higher (considerably) failure rate. 20 odd years ago a mate of mine got a terrier of a neighbour as dog was too much for them to handle breeding unknown dog went on to be a excellent earth dog and threw some good pups with a very high percentage of them coming good. breeding was unknown so it could have come from good working stock but will never know.
