theres this stuff i was introduced to. I was recommended off one of the best dog injury vets in the whole of ireland. Its called DMSO Gel. Its costs around €6 a jar. Its actually for race horses but any dog man worth his salt should have a tub of it in his vet press. It excellent for sore joints, arthiritus and general muscle pain also. its a bit of a wonder cure. Rub a small amount (a blob about the size of the top of your index finger) on the sore joints. Its reveive the pain something great for the dog.

Metacam is a last resort pain killer which should be used in drastic curcumstances or seeing an old dogs through there last days

Ester-C – This is a buffered form of vitamin C which dogs produce themselves anyway but some dogs do not produce enough. Ester-C has a very low acid content and the dogs can never overdose on it, they ‘pee’ out what the body doesn’t absorb. It builds collagen around the ligaments and joints and must be given in high doses

Vitamin E – To help the body absorb the Ester-C better.

Glucosamine – I have been doing a little bit of research recently as regards to the pill form of Glucosamine. It seems that the liquid form is much better. Therefore I now recommend Synflex www.synflexforpets.co.uk Synflex contains Glucosamine and many other ingredients that help with joints like: Boswellin, Yucca, Manganese, Bromelain, White Willow Bark, Omega 3 & 6, Vitamins A, C & E etc, etc.

Craig that sounds familiar to joint aid which also comes in the same form (very good also) but they just contain the G/C so all in all it works out more effective and cost efficent to just buy the essentials.

ZIPVIT are very cheap for all the above
