philmcd831 4
I bought a brand new hw97k my dealer told me its a fac so it's in around 18ft/lbs just wondering if this is correct and how much of a difference does it make from a 12ft/lbs rifle Quote Link to post

craig33 10
hi in 22 18 sounds about right .to be honest it wont make that much differance to a standard one in my opinion it all depends on the skill of the person pulling the trigger more power does not make a better shot it will just flatten it out a bit at 18 the 22 pellit will only be going at the same sort of velocity as a 177 doing about 11.50ft1b or there abouts . its when your shooting arround 30-40 yds that you will notice the differance it will give whatever you shoot a fair old wollop just remember take realistic shots ones that you know you can nail first time thats all i can say hope it works out for you craig 2 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Let us know how you progress with this high-performance HW97K Phil. Generally speaking the HW97 runs the same internals as the HW77 and they don't take well to FAC tuning. You might have the exceptional one that works! Craig's answer really sums up FAC .22 spring rifle shooting well. Shoot at normal, sensible ranges and use the extra grunt to put the pellet on the target harder and faster than conventional sub-12ft/lbs power. 2 Quote Link to post

The Duncan 802
You will find that the more you shoot the 97K, the better and sweeter it will shoot. Plus practise will inevitably improve your marksmanship! Cheers and good luck Duncan. 1 Quote Link to post
