BunnyBolter 16
fecking wrong if you ask me , if they need to be killed atleast freeze em and take them to the game dealer in season and get a fiver or drop the bag off at a ferret rescue home , its people like that who give us hunters a bad name and get tar'ed by society , be nice to catch the cnuts and leave the guts on the mugs doorstep and up his motor window screen . Not even you are that thick mate.....you know the crack here!!! But since i dont have running dogs i will wait till the end of this thread and if the majority think that flinging a hare in a ditch at the end of the night is correct then i will convert to shooting everyone i see so they dont get wasted by you lot.......... boyo 1,398
i dont think anyone thinks its ok to fling any quarry in a ditch and i havnt read anywhere on here where it says it is ok to do it or that anyone wants to do it .in all the years ive been in to running dogs ive only ever met one that leaves what he catches in the feild and he was doing the same before the ban.when the ban first came out i packed the dogs in for a short while and just kept my racing greyhounds because i could not stand throwing anything away which my dog had run it just didnt sit straight with my concience because since 5 yr old my old man drummed in to me dont ever kill something and not use it he wouldnt even shoot a fox because it couldnt be used . so all you on your very high horses what would you do if your walking down the feild with a longear or fox your dog has just retreived and theres a keeper or police watching you dont tell me your not going to throw it and get from there because ime sorry i dont believe it . for some that have to travel a long way to run their chosen quarry whatever that may be bringing it back with them is not a option if they dont want to risk losing their dog car and sometimes licence .god it must be great to be holier than thou and do everything by the book. and ps i dont need to throw anything away because ninety nine per cent of the times we are using the law as it is allowed. but i dont see why people that cant should be pilloried on a hunting site .whatever happened about standing together and ime not talking about the very small minority of morons that are out there .rant over. 3 Quote Link to post
scothunter 12,609
good post boyo, but he implied he throws it away cause he is scared of being caught and losing his dogs.well thats what i took from the post.of course in the scenario you just described.yes i would be ditching it and taking myself and the dog away in the opposite direction.however i would only being doing that ONLY IF i saw coppers.not just throwing them away in the off chance i got caught. morton 5,368
There are a small minority of times that you may have to dispose of evidence, other times if you know that you will be travelling any distance you should have arrangements in place beforehand to pick up your kills,or don,t go,if you are only interested in the chase then put a muzzle on the mutt,it won,t detract from the chase and it can be run again another day.the sad thing is there are to many with running dogs now who seek the easy option and have a f**ck everybody else mentality. If you need to dump kills for no good reason,or bad planning then its a sad reflection of your true motives for being in the field. Guest vin
Our 2 dogs stubbled upon a big hare last night as we were climbing over gate..they were both off the lead as we were crawling through cover into field.next thing they are running a hare doubled up ffsake.. we only kept lamp on becaue we had a young pup running on his 1st hare..anyway it ran for the gate and knocked itself out on the bottom bar..and stopped dead still..my dog is usually quite sooft mouthed and the pup retreives bunnies live so they pinned it and didnt start ragging it..like sometimes when 2 dogs are fighting over prey. Anyway.we were close enough to grab dogs and put them on the lead..We had a look at the big old hartley hare and he looked a bit dazed from his bump on the heeed.but apart from that he was good to go.. So we did what most people on this site would never do.. We let the big old bugger go.. and i,ll tell you something else for nowt..it felt quite good. ! hares are for daytime with 1 dog and a good few big fields with ditches or dykes.. well they used to be in the good old days.
