scothunter 12,609 Posted October 23, 2011 Report Share Posted October 23, 2011 plenty tbh. without the union we would never have had the empire,also the trade wealth that came with it.we gave the world a lot of good systems and backing.yes it wasnt all roses,we have done some terrible things aswell.however were not the only ones who was into empire building,and if it had went the other way we could have been downtrodden by other imperialistic empires. no union was ever created without bad blood,but on the whole it hasnt been all that bad a relationship.i suspect the ones who dont like it,are dyed in the wool anti english,and IMO a lot of the ad feelings come from the troubles in ireland.the way i see it,the world is more unstable than it has ever been,also the current climate in monetary terms dictates to me that venturing into unknown terrority of independence could very blow up in our faces.got to laugh though those in scotland wanting independence seem to be of a certain age.older generation.who lets face facts here,no be long till your dead so dont think it very fair to leave a mess for the next generation.why change something that aint broke. 3 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
