i have recently read that mesh size doesnt matter but i think it does.

i prefer 4.25 inch sheet netting but also have 4 inch,

i would like opinions from the experianced netters on mesh sizes/ what you use and why..

thanks smithie

nobody wants to coment?

well ill tell you what i think then

any longnet will catch and hold but if the mesh is too small you will find it hard to A, chin the bunny and B, remove it from the net

if the mesh is too big the bunnies will slip through especialy early season when they are not so big, not always a bad thing unless your a pestie.

if the mesh is too small for the rabbits head to get through it will chew the net trying to escape leaving you a hole to fix and the loss or a rabbit (possibly)

if the mesh is of a size, the rabbits head will go through holding the rabbit at the shoulders with the rest of the rabbit getting tangled.

my hand made nets were 4.5 or 4.25 inch mesh

sheet nets are 4.25 and 4 inch mesh which i use all ways. but i have had 3.5 sent by mistake, and i used it. what a nightmare that was :icon_redface:

this is my finding from personal experiances and for me mesh size does matter..
