dougie_s410k 1
I thought this may help alot of people on here as to the type of nets out there being sold by differant companies and people. Now you read alot of threads asking where to buy nets from and as there is so much choice it leaves you in a world of choice and prices! For new comers and seasoned ferreters who ask about nets it may just help stop buying inferior quality nets the first time around! Ive purchased quite a few nets from differant people & suppliers that claim to make the "best" quality nets on the market but heres my find. After purchasing numbers of nets and using differant types I finaly found the best all round quality Spun Poly net. The gentleman behind making them is netrigger on here. The nets are well made with nice strong heavy rings, Tight knots on the rings and good quality lines with a great quality poly! I will include some pictures of a couple of the other nets aswel as Bill's ( netriggers ) nets. The pegs are all from Bridport Nets as they are great quality and my prefered peg. Until you use a few nets together its sometimes hard to compare but we have done now and his nets make it easier and more pleasurable to use aswel as of a high quality and good service and price! The above is a 4ft net from an online supplier, good quality net although the knots move around the ring and are loose. The above is from a member on here which is alot better than the suppliers net although lighter rings than the prefered ones. Above net from netrigger, more tied off knots/meshes and good quality Poly with heavier rings and tangle alot less and easier to use and lay in my opinion. Like I stated this is my find of a few nets including my chosen net and there are alot of other excellant net makers on here and out there! But I thought this may just help anyone who is struggling with what nets to buy by my own experiences. Anyone else care to follow on from this with pictures so we can all see whats out there would make it even better for newcomers. Kind regards Dougie Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
I'm fairly sure i mainly use the middle ones from our 'mystery supplier' on here. have been using them for the last couple of seasons, and have found that they work very well. Personally i have not noticed the weight of the rings to be too much of a problem? But that is probably personal preferance? Here is a tip regarding the pegs, i find that tent pegs are very very good for this, especially when the ground is frozen, as they tend to have a narrower / sharper point, and also have a wee hook, to hook into the net when you roll it up. I will dig out a photo is a sec. Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Pegs And a nylon net from longnetter which i find good quality and catch well. Quote Link to post

lksopener 105
Bill sorted me out with a net to have a look at the quality of them as some of the others I have got are of a rather dubious quality. I will be ordering my next lot from bill. Top bloke! Liam Quote Link to post
RossM 8,149
nets look of great quality! can they be made to size, and what sort of prices? why doesnt a mod pin a section for net supliers and they can then try to sell their product with details and a price menu? Quote Link to post

max abell 196
Always made my own nets but i know that netrigger does do a good net at a good price as do some other members on the site these people are supplying a great service to ferreters because there is not massive profit to be made in netmaking after paying out for the materials add this to the netmakers time and they make a few quid beer money not sh*t loads of money that some like to beleive lets hope these blokes and ladies who sell good nets at a good price are not a dying breed 1 Quote Link to post

Country Joe 1,411
I recently purchased some spun Poly Purse Nets and Poke nets from Netrigger, excellent, top quality at a good price, and speedy service, no hesitation to recommend Bill. As I have said in a previous post where to buy good nets should be pinned, as the subject keep coming up. Edited October 21, 2011 by Country Joe Quote Link to post
