beargrylls 1
hi guys, ive recently inherited my grandfarthers old airgun, witch was very much to my suprise as i dint even know he owend one its a vey poorly looking webley hawke mkIII its been in a garage loft space unbaged for a number of years, the barrel right back to the scope grooves was coverd in rust, ive sprayed it with WD40 and left it over night in the hope it would remove the rust but had no joy so i carfully sanded it back to the metal with wet and dry sand paper but now i dont know the best way to go around painting it? its only ever going to be used as a garden plinker so getting it re blued is a bit pointless i just want to tidy it up a bit, was thinking of using spray paint will this work? thanks in advance Edited October 20, 2011 by beargrylls Quote Link to post

Great momento of Grandad mate. If you have taken it back to bright steel, it may pay you to use a Mordant solution to acid etch the steel before priming. Make sure you degrease well, very well.
