Day time work on the hill!

Recommended Posts

Any boys using their lurchers on the hill regularly?? If so what crosses you using and get some pics up. I use a bull/grey x foxhound/salukigrey for my day work when on a night shift week, thinking of getting a wirehaired pointer cross or similar to help her out a bit as the ground I have is harsh at best.

no a lad who you's to slaughter foxs with two pointer x's on the hill and i mean a lot of them

yeah i have always wondered how the wirehaired pointer x would get on.

but it's hard enough to find someone using them, so getting hold of pup from working parents would be difficult,

let me know if you hear of any!

i have got a first x gwpxwhippet he has taken to the whippet shape, only 7 month but he is the fastest learning dog i have had, afraid of nothing,he misses nothing with his nose and is turning into a fast little dog which suits me,i think the gwpxgrey would be fantastic for bigger stuff.

I run some almighty tough ground on the welsh hills/mountains in quarries and old tips. run a first x collie grey seems to be doing ok, she's caught me plenty got high hopes for her over the next few years, she's put some older lurchers to shame

Born to run - snap mate with regards to the ground you hunt, same country too. Just I haven't caught with my hound x yet, although she has with my uncle who owned her before me. Know a few boys using the collie x for day work and there is no doubt a descent one is a mighty handy companion on them tough hills :) all the best for the season mate.

aye mate the collie x suites the land here well she's caught stacks this season already up on them at night. now just started scoping them in the day. I held her back in the day for a while as I'm really a lamper and wanted that firmly in her head first, shes had 119 night time rabbits and now 5 daytime now she's aloud to use her nose and roam on scents in cover she regular finds and puts up quarry and started putting them in the bag a, now seems no stoping her havnt pht any training in just let her go wild so to speak . collie brain around here I think is the key it works well.
