max abell 196 Posted October 20, 2011 Report Share Posted October 20, 2011 Keep at it mate you will make fu*k ups to start with the 1st 3 rows are the hardest to master when i first started making nets years ago the air was blue with fu*ks now its so easy and your hands get used to it its like learning to drive a car when you first start your hopeless but after passing your test you wondered what all the fuss was about dont give up now keep at it and you will suss it out as del boy says he who dares wins LOL good luck with it Quote Link to post

B.P.R 2,798 Posted October 20, 2011 Report Share Posted October 20, 2011 ive gave it a go aswell. the first one was ok but i looped through a previous loop and it f****d up, second one was perfect until i realised a slipped knot in the middle and tried to botch it which f****d it up more. third one was decent and useable and i started a fourth and thought, fcuk this, ill buy them! my fingers were in chunbks and i havent got the time now. i think ill just have a wee dabble in them every now and again to pass the time if i have any. The one 8,511 Posted October 20, 2011 Report Share Posted October 20, 2011 Get yourself a cheap ball of string don't use to the good stuff to practice with , My first thoughts are where are your fingers on the mesh board ?. your thumb on the front holding the mesh your forefinger on the back keeping the knot you going to do separate from the rest and let the twine slide under your thumb when tighting the knot and keep up a gentle but firm pressure . And never hurry if your fingers get sore or your bored walk away from it as one slipped knot means a nets usless Quote Link to post
whin 463 Posted October 20, 2011 Report Share Posted October 20, 2011 come on even the most unlikly eejits can make a net could show you in an half an our taut near imbeciles in the hunting game lol i was going start a class up for net making fishing hunting etc a good hobby to learn not that the bailifes would think so but a dying trade net makeing for sport and pocket money little rox ille be about one day ille sho you i taut my self only mabe 12 13 by taking cheap nets to pieces and knowing a bit about fishing etc then just got better and better mind i gave some to an old freind still has them taut lots over the years mate, dont give up, i know guys that cant read or write can make allsorts dont give up its twenty years as the bell chimes midnite on old years nite when i took you out on a nite time affray , walked the legs of you , surely youre not that useless 1 Quote Link to post
