Ticks

Recommended Posts

Got home from work today and checked on the ferrets as per usual. took out the big hob first and had a little lookat him and found him infested with ticks i quickly put him back and checked on the other three and found them all to be covered in ticks to varying degrees. cant beleive that this has happened so quickly they are checked everyday by me but typically i didnt check them fully yesterday in good light due to getting home late from work.

they were checked on sunday when i had them all out and there where no signs of them then that i noticed.

so this evening i have had a hell of a night first getting frontline spray from the vets then de ticking the ferrets with the otom them spraying them then cleaning and blow torching the inside of the hutch before sprayingthat with frontline then refilling the bedding and shavings with new stuff

4 hours its taken now i itch like a git but i hope i got all the little basterds. next few days shall tell.

couldnt beleive how many of the bloody things there was anyway they have all been torched now. dont know wheter they have come from the rats or the rabbitspost-52684-0-37881100-1319057694.jpgpost-52684-0-93293100-1319057705.jpgpost-52684-0-70845600-1319057709.jpgpost-52684-0-85218600-1319057714.jpg

Horrible things they are. I found 1 on one of mine yesterday, others didnt have any though. They others must of brought it back.

Is there different types of ticks as they all look different. One I found was a light blue colour.

I use one of them tick remover things, got it off ebay for a couple of quid and I think its well worth it.
