welshnutter69 78
every dog is diffrent to the amount of food thay need....some are more active than others, some have bigger runs so thay have more excersise ect...best way is trial and error, i feed mine around a quater of a pound of minced chicken with a good handfull of buiscuits a day...seems to be at a steady weight with that... minced chicken is the best as it has the chicken bones minced up in there and is a good source of calcium for the dogs ;-) dont give them garlic, it doesnt do nothing for your dog, could make them ill...codliver oil is good tho.... all the best

welshnutter69 78
ur wrong, do your research... A compound found in onions (and in lesser amount in garlic) called n-propyldisulfide can, in large doses, cause oxidative damage to red blood cells, creating Heinz bodies and triggering the body to reject these cells from the bloodstream. If large doses of this compound are ingested on a regular basis, the process can lead to Heinz-body anemia and even death. i would not feed it to my dogs, no hope in hell....my dogs doing very very well without it...thay will not benafit from it, so why risk them getting ill from garlic.... Jordb543 9
Granted my two terriers arnt out and out workers as i only take them bushing, but they do cover alot of ground and get alot of exercise, i tend to just feed what i think is enough and keep an eye of their body shape and weight once you know what works well stick with it, i feed mine 100% raw when i can and occasionally biscuits when the meats is starting to run low, i get a load of chicken carcasses from one butcher, and i get a bag of all scraps from another one once a week for free the bag of scraps is made up of beef, chicken, lamb the odd bit of pork, but no two bags are the same, sometimes its very boney, other times not alot of bones, sometimes alot of chicken, not much elese and vice versa, and my dogs look better then ever, great coats, teeth and body shapes, the energy level in the old dog has gone up so much since going onto meat was quite remarkable tbh, so ill always be feeding barf as a staple for my dogs till i die i reckon, i also chuck in oily fish, boiled veg and boiled eggs occasionally aswell. A good tip ive found is to always pick up reduced meat etc when your doing your weekly shop etc and bung it in the freezer, comes in very handy when the meats running low and you cant get to the butchers! I might be wrong but I thought garlic was supposed to be good for their coat? you've posted that a couple of times but like it says, in large doses....don't think people are talking about large doses, just a bit in their food every now and again. welshnutter69 78
if u want the coat to look well. put cod liver oil in with there food! better than garlic for coat...garlic doesnt keep ticks and fleas away..it might reduce the numbers but keep them all away. dog dsnt have any real benafits from it so whats the point risking the dog getting ill from it? Also give them raw bones to munch on couple of times a week and a drop off Cod liver oil.
10inchsixnhalfkgsolja 31
I have had them on the raw meat for a cuple of weeks now I get beef scraps from the market and I buy some mince to mix in with it it comes to 10 euro and Feeds 2 terriers for over 2 weeks and the change is noticeable already they seem to be a lot more active and alert Always play fighting even after a good long walk and seems to be shaping them up nice I will never go back to a full biscuit deit after trying raw meat in my opinion it's far superior to buiscit although I do put a tiny bit in with the meat five or six pieces
