shepp 2,285
I heard on another forum she died, the second van mangled her legs to such an extent that I think living in a place like china with no legs would be worse than surviving. I struggled to sleep after watching that before bed last night.
rob190364 2,594
They reckon half the trouble with passers by offing assistance over there is that any person who stops to help an accident victim often gets the blame. There's an ongoing case in the news there about a bloke who went to the aid of some woman and ended up being charged with the actual offence & fined a massive, massive amount of money. It might seem irrelevant to us, but if that sort of feeling is deeply ingrained in a culture & you're wary about helping people due to the possible consequences of it, you can kind of see why it happens.. It's still sickening.. I see what you're saying....but I can't get my head around why that second truck went over her, it could easily have gone round her, just plain f'ckin wierd! long dogs 580
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJN1Erl-KcY&feature=player_embedded#! as the title suggests it contains a young child getting injured, i found this hard to watch so i think others will too. I really don't understand the apparent lack of empathy in the chinese. thats f*****g sick couldnt watch it all 1st bit was bad enough
mackem 27,548
Been to China often, met good and bad people, remember china is massive,it used to fall into five different time zones, most people I met from Uigurs to Han were decent enough once you took time to chat to them,I first went when an "Alien travel permit" was needed to visit sensitive regions, still got my permit as a souvenir, times and people are changing, though I do remember a chinese copper in Xinjiang tapping his stun-gun on my table, sparking it and laughing just to try and get a reaction. mackem 27,548
Just watched the full clip, makes sickening viewing,I have heard in a few far-eastern countries if a driver knocks someone over they often try and make sure the victim is dead to avoid costly hospital bills etc,I know an uninsured guy in who knocked down and killed a pensioner, ended up paying the family reparation and footing the funeral bill. moonlighter 1,164
The Chinese dump baby girls when there born as they don't want them. I heard that they don't even kill them first, just leave them naked to freeze/starve to death.

WILF 47,636
Never mind the chinks, that could be London.....nobody wants to stop to help anybody now days it seems. I once saw an old lady sitting alone crying in a crowded eating area in a shopping centre once, there must have been 500+ people in that area and I was the only person who got up and went over to see if she needed help........everyone looked at me like I was mad!! I have seen a few incidents and I always stop and see if I can help, I just have to. Its not so bad in rural areas in the UK, but in the big citys every f****r is a scared stranger. I agree with the other lads too, that was a pretty disturbing thing to watch.
lurchergrrl 1,441
Really glad I didn't watch that; reading the thread was hard enough. People see others in distress and they're are afraid of being sued, conned, attacked, whatever ... so they just look away most of the time. Lack of empathy isn't strictly a Chinese trait.
