Guest Rabbiteer
Am working an Industrial Estate in Hampshire. This weekend was my first time on site. The Estate management team have also invited a local gun club to shoot on the ground too. This can range from two guns to over 10 at a time. The risks of a firearms incident invovling person or property on site is quite real, so I decided to only use my ferrets, nets and snares. We have been issued a challenge by the ground foreman. He said that the tally of rabbits will be added up at the end of next month and the loser buys a few bottles of wine for the winner. So far the air Gunners are at about 1-2 rabbits each. The pictures below are for my first 24hr period using 32 fence snares. All rabbits were caught around the neck. Set the wires on Saturday morning at 0545hrs. Rechecked them at 0600 this morning with Butchdingle. Got to say thanks to Snareman, Woodga and Chalkwarren. Quote Link to post

Have to be impressed with that mate Nik, I am also impressed with that! 3 out of 3 runs is good going on any ground, you have been taught by the best though so I suppose it should almost be 'expected' . . . Keep up the good work! OTC Quote Link to post
Guest Rabbiteer
Many thanks for your kind comments. If you look at my right knee you can see another rabbit. The one I am holding was caught in the snare behind the tree at the back of me and out of view of the camera. So on that stretch of fence line it would be 4 outa 4. I can not take the praise though. I was taught and given tips by those who have spent years learning and it is to them that the praise should go. I could not have done it without them. I only get to set fence snares and that in it self makes my time easier as the rabbits have already told me where they break through the boundary. I have only caught two rabbits out in the open because I just dont have that type of permission. But im not complaining, as I get £2 a rabbit at the moment at the butchers. :thumbs-up: Cheers guy's, Nik Quote Link to post
