Guest Dale
since i was 16 im now almost 22 , so thats almost 6 years , my step dad has always shot with a shot gun and he has been with my mother for 12 years , so ive sort of always been around hunting ect , only i left the labs and shotgun behind when i got my own place and ventured out into the running dogs alone as he doesnt do that sort of hunting , , my 1st running dog was 3/4 bred whippet bedlington which i still have now , wouldnt change her for the world . Guest markbrick1
Got my first lurcher, Blue, off a mates dad when i was 18 and because my mam and dad aren't keen on dogs i had to keep it in my mates yard but it went everywhere with me and that got me obsessed with dogs and hunting like i am today 7 years on. I'll be the first to admit i am really quite inexperienced though. Learning every time i take the dogs out and i've got my first pups now so i am starting from the beginning which is good. at least you are truthfull steveo best of luck mate Quote Link to post

Guest Dale
There's no point lying and claiming to know it all as so many people do as you will just get found out wont you!! I have a few lads that i go out with that have had dogs years and are doing the business so the oldest pup comes out all the time when i go out with them for the older dogs to show mine the ropes, i've got plenty of books and the forums to extract usefull info from and i enjoy EVERY time i go out with the dogs. spot on stevo , everyone is learning , its a constant process , the worlds full of infomation , no one knows it all , , i myself am looking forward to learning all i can , still got a hell of alot , taking it all in slowly and getting there Dale Quote Link to post

jigsaw 11,863
I had my first running dog at 16 years old,had them up to 99,concentrated on the terriers up to 2004.Due to family illness had to break from dogs for 2 years, getting back into it again.so overall had lurchers over 20 years.
